Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist Liver and Digestive Health
This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation, one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 1.6 million people a year through our three main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm, and Royal Free. This role will be based at the Royal Free Hospital site.
Your role will provide leadership to the Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary, Liver Transplant, and Hepatology and Colorectal surgery wards. You will be working in a dynamic and experienced MDT, consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, and Therapy Assistants.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has experience of working in an acute hospital, has excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team, as well as an interest in service development and quality improvement.

Personal Qualities
* Professional fluent in written and oral English.
* Ability to carry out manual handling practices.

* Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
Education & Professional Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
* HPC Registration in OT.
* Completed relevant post-registration specialist courses, for example: OT assessments of specific conditions, OT treatment approaches, outcome measures, supervision skills training for staff and students, OT Practice Educator course.
* Member of Specialist OT Section group.
Experience
* Substantial post-graduate work experience as an Occupational Therapist, predominately working with patients with physical and cognitive disabilities.
* Considerable experience of being a Band 6 OT.
* Experience and ability of working in an acute setting.
* Experience of teaching and supervising less experienced staff.
* Experience of teaching and supervising OT students.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and use own initiative.
* Motivational Interviewing/Behaviour Change training (CBT or facilitation skills).
Skills and Aptitudes
* Knowledge and experience in the use of occupational therapy models of practice.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills to a range of audiences, e.g., users, carers, and other professionals.
* Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others, and effective time management.
* Experience of working effectively and efficiently as part of an MDT.
* Demonstrated clear understanding of clinical governance and its application to the work setting.
* Ability to demonstrate a commitment to best practice and awareness of relevant national standards/guidelines.
* Knowledge of quality assurance and audit programmes in line with requirements for Clinical Governance.
* Ability to demonstrate self-direction in thought and practice.
* Knowledge of research and development process, evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Ability to lead a small team.
