An opportunity has arisen for the role of FCIR Systems Manager working within the Force Crime and Incident Response based at Coldharbour.
The FCIR uses a vast array of systems and technology to ensure an effective and efficient service for the public. This role will focus on system development and maintenance alongside leading the commands business continuity response. The successful candidate will develop and establish systems and procedures within the FCIR, providing evaluation, advice, and guidance on development, implementation, and maintenance. Manage the administration of all FCIR systems to realise the full benefits available and optimise operational performance.
The successful candidate must have good knowledge of the policing model, police operations, business plans, systems and structures, and their operational impact. A detailed knowledge of working procedures, practices, and policies across all FCIR systems is essential. This will ensure that they can identify faults, problem solve, and propose practical solutions for the effective delivery of systems. The post holder must possess the necessary depth and breadth of knowledge of FCIR operations to apply levels of challenge and evaluation to existing systems and processes. Experience in systems integration techniques and the ability to influence the development and implementation of systems is essential. Working with both internal and external partners, the post holder must be conversant to have discussions and negotiations with technical personnel and suppliers which forms a regular feature of this role.
The successful candidate will have full and extensive knowledge of the Command & Control System including all the independencies which include Airwaves, Motorola CRS, mapping interface & Airwaves. The post holder would be required to be fully knowledgeable of the end user functionality in addition to the administration role and be able to identify and resolve faults. Utilising their specialist skills, they will attend national user groups representing Kent Police.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and communication skills are therefore necessary. Good report writing skills are essential. Previous supervisory experience is essential as the post holder will require the ability to lead, develop, and support a team.
It is also essential for you to have well developed communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with members of the public, officers, and police staff at all levels both within and outside of the organisation. You must be able to manage your own workload and be confident to make decisions with limited supervision in what can often be a pressurised environment.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £45,591.00.
