Product Design Manager

Coppice (part of the EP Group) is a market-leading and international supplier of aluminium food packaging, renowned for innovation, quality and service. As we continue with our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking like-minded individuals to support and enhance our team on an exciting journey.
We have an opening for an experienced Product Designer within a progressive, market-leading food packaging organisation.
As a highly skilled and creative Product Designer, you will see products through clients' specifications and develop your design skills to deliver market-leading, creative product and packaging solutions that deliver commercial value to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver product and packaging design as a primary service of Coppice, providing direct customer support (i.e. calls, supported site visits, supported meetings, etc.) when required.
2. Design and create 3D models, layouts, and drawings.
3. Produce 3D renderings from client briefs.
4. Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and develop interactive design.
5. Ensure that a design project remains within scope, time, and budget.
6. Maintain awareness of leading technologies and trends, including software intelligence, retailer and product trends, new material developments, and packaging legislation.
7. Work with required teams, including Graphic Designers, in respect to photography, artwork, and sales/marketing support where required, including market and competitor reviews.
8. Conduct international research into the packaging sector, including requirements and emerging trends.
9. Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximize efficiency.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Degree in Product Design or Industrial Design (or similar).
2. Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
3. Knowledge of SolidWorks software.
4. An awareness of manufacturing processes within the packaging sector (including flexible film, paper, and board conversion techniques).
5. Comprehensive understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
6. Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - ideally food manufacturing or equivalent.
7. Attention to detail across all aspects of the role.
8. Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressures.
9. Good IT proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) with the ability to learn and use business-specific applications.
