Description
We have an opportunity for an Adult Social Care Social Worker. As a Social Worker, you will carry out the full spectrum of statutory responsibilities under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other related laws and policies. You will be expected to perform your role in a strengths-based way, to a high quality, and consistently seek to reflect on and continually improve your practice.
Responsibilities
You will be a core member of a multi-disciplinary team of social workers, occupational therapists, case managers and support workers/advisers. The team is exceptionally fast-paced and sits at the heart of the corporate customer centre to deliver positive outcomes for residents with adult social care needs.
Qualification – Essential
* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* Diploma or Degree in Social Work.
* Qualified Best Interest Assessor or willingness to undertake training.
* Social Work England registration.
* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.
* Ability and experience in assessing the needs of individuals referred for social care in line with statutory functions and responsibilities
* Experience delivering services to people with diverse needs in an urban Local Authority.
* Abel will demonstrate experience listening to and working with local people and seeing the bigger picture.
* Experience in awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of young people and or vulnerable adults.
* Experience in liaising effectively with stakeholders to deliver improved outcomes for residents.
* Knowledge and experience in applying relevant legislation and guidance for providing services for adult client groups.
* Demonstrate an ability to undertake strengths-based social work duties, develop a relationship and rapport, and understand what is essential to the person.
* Ability to undertake care, support planning, and liaise and negotiate with various community organisations to promote strength and independence.
* Ability to recognise safeguarding adult issues and to undertake enquiries using a safeguarding personal approach.
* Ability to maintain up-to-date, comprehensive electronic case records, written documents, and court reports; attend/chair case review meetings, conferences, and training; and give evidence at Court Hearings as required.
