The North East Derbyshire (North) Adult Social Work Team is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our community-based team of Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners located at The Arc, Clowne, Chesterfield. It is necessary to evidence autonomy and accountability in your case management as the team operates on a largely flexible basis to carry out face-to-face Care Act (2014) interventions.
The areas covered include: Brampton and Walton, Barlow and Holmesfield, Coal Aston, Gosforth Valley, Ridgeway and Marsh Lane, Unstone, Dronfield, Killamarsh, Eckington, Renishaw, and the borders of Sheffield.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to travel and possess skills to build positive, professional links across our area to work closely with our partner agencies, such as Health, Police, and Housing.
The ability to identify signposting opportunities is necessary to support carers and maximize independence for individual wellbeing to promote person-centred, strength-based outcomes.

Key Social Worker responsibilities will include carrying out Care Act (2014) assessments and complex reviews. It is vital to evidence experience and skills to manage a complex caseload while meeting statutory duties in a safe, timely, accountable, and cost-effective manner to meet eligible needs.
It is advantageous to show knowledge and experience of taking the lead on Section 42 Safeguarding inquiries and investigations, chairing multi-agency meetings, such as Vulnerable Adult Risk Management (VARM), and completing Mental Capacity Act (2005) assessments, including Best Interest meetings, COP-DOLs, and court work.
Candidates should be able to respond to changing situations, including Duty cover, to effectively triage incoming work and support Adults and their carers who may require a more urgent response.
