Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Management - Supervise daily logistics activities, including receiving, picking, packing, dispatching, and inventory control. - Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment to meet customer deadlines. - Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies. - Coordinate with transport providers (hauliers, couriers) to optimise delivery schedules. 2. Team Leadership - Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve KPIs (e.g., productivity, accuracy). - Allocate tasks and manage shift rotas to meet operational demands. - Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary issues in line with company policy. 3. Health & Safety Compliance - Enforce strict adherence to HSE regulations (e.g., manual handling, forklift safety). - Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions. - Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free warehouse. 4. Systems & Reporting - Use warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to track shipments and inventory. - Generate reports on stock levels, dispatch accuracy, and operational efficiency. - Identify process improvements to reduce costs and waste. 5. Customer & Supplier Coordination - Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments (e.g., procurement, sales). - Resolve logistics-related complaints or delays professionally. Person Specification Essential Skills & Experience - Experience: 2 years in a logistics, warehouse, or transport supervisory role. - Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment. - Organisation: Strong planning and problem-solving skills. - Technical: Proficiency in WMS/MS Office (Excel for data analysis). - Certifications: Forklift licence (desirable), IOSH/NEBOSH (advantageous). - Knowledge: Understanding of UK logistics regulations (e.g., drivers’ hours, vehicle weights). must hold valid CSCS
