Production Operations Manager (CI Lead) Up to £80,000 Benefits Southampton, Hampshire Executive Heads have been retained to appoint a Production Operations Manager for a manufacturing business experiencing significant growth over the past 18 months. The company is preparing for further expansion over the next 12 to 24 months due to securing new long-term contracts. Purpose Reporting to the UK General Manager, the Production Operations Manager will lead and manage the production function, including planning, training, executing, and facilitating direct manufacturing operations and continuous improvement projects. You will be responsible for fostering a safety and learning culture and creating a continuous improvement environment using Lean and Six Sigma principles to eliminate hazards, reduce waste, and improve key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, People). As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the broader business strategy and may deputise for the GM in their absence. The manufacturing team consists of approximately 100 people working across two shifts. Key Duties And Responsibilities Implement, drive, and develop continuous improvement activities across all manufacturing areas. Conduct value stream mapping for all manufacturing processes. Enhance waste management and drive performance improvements. Compile and present monthly reports to the management team. Implement visual management systems to drive outputs. Promote a culture prioritising safety, excellence, and integrity. Manage, coach, and develop team leaders and managers within the manufacturing function. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all customer, regulatory, and corporate reporting. Challenge the status quo, introduce new ideas, and foster open conversations. The person This role requires a goal-focused, driven individual capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels. Ideally, you will have experience in leading, managing, and developing continuous improvement activities, including Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate success in a similar role, leading a large, split-shift manufacturing team in a high-growth environment, with a hands-on approach and a willingness to contribute to the wider business. In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI), and experience working in a clean room environment are highly advantageous. Lean and Six Sigma qualifications and continuous improvement experience are essential.
