This role is instrumental in evolving and strengthening our marketing function, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will prioritise key team and business objectives while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
As a hands-on Marketing Team Lead (Maternity Cover), you will:
* Strategically and creatively guide the team to ensure high-quality campaigns and initiatives.
* Play a key role in developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance transparency, engagement, and brand alignment.
* Take ownership of selected strategic projects, including brand positioning, external and internal communications, and local marketing plans.
* Support the growth and development of the marketing team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture. Enhance team collaboration and efficiency by refining processes for task prioritisation and ad hoc requests.
Key responsibilities:
* Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in achieving team performance objectives, providing guidance and fostering engagement to establish yourself as a trusted leader.
* Implement process improvements to enhance task prioritisation and reduce inefficiencies.
* Drive a collaborative and supportive culture, recognising team contributions and encouraging development.
* Lead the planning and execution of digital, advertising, and direct marketing campaigns that are well-structured, effective, and measurable.
* Work with external agencies and internal teams to deliver data-driven campaigns that align with business goals.
* Oversee the creation, management, and distribution of marketing materials, ensuring high-quality output from designers, printers, and suppliers.
* Manage business review platforms to protect and enhance brand reputation. Support internal and external brand positioning, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.
* Contribute to in-house design projects, creating posters, leaflets, invitations, and event materials.
* Implement innovative strategies to engage target audiences from enquiry to registration and beyond.
* Strengthen internal and external employer branding to attract and retain top talent.
About you:
* You will have around 5 years’ demonstrable and relevant experience in a Marketing role within a B2B or B2C environment.
* You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or be qualified by experience.
* You will be efficient and comfortable in prioritising, managing workload, and getting things done. You will need to be capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
* You are passionate about the role of great marketing in driving business success.
* You will be IT literate and comfortable with using the Microsoft Suite. Ideally, you will also have experience with project management tools like Asana. Nice to have’s are Google Analytics, Google Ads, and CRM experience.
* You are skilled in brand management and experienced in overseeing projects from start to finish.
* You possess design literacy and the ability to create ad-hoc designs for posters, flyers, and other print and digital materials as needed. While we use Canva for in-house designs, more complex design work is outsourced.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
* A self-motivated starter-finisher. Very well organised and works well under pressure. Confident in nature.
* Able to adapt to changing objectives and priorities.
