***SC CLEARED*** Desktop Support Engineer
Contract: 6 Month contract initially + Extensions
Based: Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria
Market Rates: via Umbrella

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsibility for completing assigned works within time frames associated to the works
2. Requests/IMACs completion
3. Undertaking Project Tasks in support of both internal and external Project Managers
4. Undertaking NSR Tasks to agreed timescales
5. Effective Customer handling
6. Keeping the P&C Project lead informed of any concerns escalating as necessary
Key Skills & Experiences:
1. Microsoft Windows O/S (Windows 10 & Windows 7) - working knowledge of build, configuration, and registry settings
2. Desktop hardware architecture - predominately HP desktop and laptops
3. SCCM experience including OS deployment, application deployment, fault finding, monitoring, and reporting
4. Microsoft Office suite - configuration, templates, macros, add-ins, advanced features, and user preference configuration
5. Active Directory - basic administration, User configuration
6. Messaging and collaboration tools - an appreciation of the Microsoft Exchange environment, email client configuration, MS Outlook, instant messaging tools (Skype for business)
7. Networks experience to include an understanding of LAN/WAN/vLAN and Wi-Fi technologies, DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE and VPN/remote connectivity
8. Automation - Understanding of Scripting technologies such as PowerShell, VB Scripting, and batch Files
9. Security - disk encryption using bit locker, NTFS permissions and shared folder security
10. Computer peripherals - including but not limited to printers (including MFD's), display screens, docking stations, port replicators, cameras and scanners
11. Working Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) software (ServiceNow)
