Purpose of the Role - Project Manager:
As a Project Manager on this major water infrastructure framework, you will be responsible for managing complex projects from pre-production to full completion. Your leadership will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will also drive the use of innovative construction techniques, including “offsite first” strategies, while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Key Accountabilities - Project Manager:
1. Lead the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects within the Thames Water framework.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.
3. Manage both on-site and off-site operations, tracking progress against project timelines and budget targets.
4. Cultivate a positive team culture focused on high performance and wellbeing.
5. Implement Lean Construction and other modern techniques to optimise efficiency and project success.
6. Maintain clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency at all stages.
7. Ensure exemplary site organisation to enhance safety and project performance.
Competency Requirements - Project Manager:
1. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
3. Experience in managing large-scale civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
4. Excellent communication and client management skills.
5. Commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions.
6. Familiarity with Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management, and other modern construction methods.
7. Strong commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.
Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Project Manager:
1. Minimum HNC qualification in construction or manufacturing (desirable).
2. Strong IT skills and experience with project management software.
3. Professional qualifications such as SMSTS and relevant CSCS card are essential.
4. Experience in contract administration and BIM/digital tools is advantageous.
5. Experience in similar roles within the construction or manufacturing sectors is desirable.
