Head of Individual Protection Pricing Salary: National - circa £100,000 - £130,000, London - circa £120,000 - £140,000 Are you someone who is looking to make a significant contribution to the overall success of the protection business? Then look no further this role is for you This role would be best suited for someone experienced in protection pricing who is both commercial and technically capable, with strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills. A bit about the job: To lead and develop Aviva's industry leading pricing function within Individual Protection. Responsible for setting the overall pricing strategy for Individual Protection and delivering against that strategy in support of the broader Protection business. Overall responsibility for all new business pricing across Intermediary, Partnerships and Direct, as well as the pricing of Aviva's significant in force Individual Protection portfolio. Key accountabilities: Set the pricing strategy for the Individual Protection business and ensure it is delivered accurately to the market Own the overall approach to new business pricing, determining potential pricing approaches to deliver the optimum balance between competitiveness, profitability and customer value For all existing business policies, responsible for the overall pricing approach including regular reviews of premiums and charges In conjunction with the Insurance Risk Hub, responsible for proposing costing assumptions for Individual Protection products for approval at the Costing Governance Committee Assess commercial and fair value metrics for potential distribution arrangements Responsible for setting Individual Protection's overall framework to determine fair value for Individual Protection products Leverage One Aviva benefits, working both more broadly across Protection (e.g. with Group Pricing) but also with other business units to leverage scale and develop best practice. Leadership of a team of 25 with a direct report team of 4 Skills and experience we're looking for: Strong Protection pricing experience with good knowledge of the UK Individual Protection market Strong commercial acumen with excellent relationship management skills Good ability to work both strategically as well as tactically Sound understanding of Protection, and the impact of areas such as Underwriting, Claims, Operations and Risk Management on reinsurance, as well as the controls to manage and mitigate risks Strong people leadership credentials, with ability to create a positive culture that supports people's development In this role you'll be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority's Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we'll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we'll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain 'fit and proper' to carry out your role. We'll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
