Human Resources Manager, part-time, 21 hours per week, £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Hybrid (with at least one day per week working in the IPSEA office in Takeley, Essex)
Are you an experienced human resources professional looking to shape and lead a crucial function within a growing charity? We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to establish and oversee our HR operations. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by developing a comprehensive HR function, playing a key role in supporting our mission to improve the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
IPSEA is a national charity that works to ensure that children and young people with SEND receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. Since we were formed in 1983, we have helped to improve the education experience of thousands of children and young people with all kinds of SEND. We do this by providing free and independent legal advice and casework support, undertaking policy work and delivering training on the SEND law framework.
This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to establish and centralise our HR function. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Human Resources Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources, support the finance function with payroll and pensions, and lead on data protection and health and safety compliance. You will work collaboratively across the organisation, providing expert advice and guidance while ensuring our HR practices align with IPSEA s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
As Human Resources Manager, you will:
* Develop and lead on all IPSEA s HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding and training of staff, volunteers and trustees.
* Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures, including pay scales and remuneration strategies.
* Provide support and guidance to managers and staff on HR procedures and policies.
* Oversee the effective use of our HR systems, and ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance.
* Line manage and support our Office Administrator, ensuring effective administrative processes.
* Manage and oversee data protection compliance and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
* Promote staff well-being, including mental health awareness and resources.
