Cardio-Respiratory Department
We have a Band 4 post available and are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take up the position.
The work involved includes routine ECG recording, ambulatory monitor hook-up, working shift patterns including nights and weekends, assisting with specialised procedures, and supervising junior staff.
The post is 37.5 hours a week and will be based at both Whiston and St Helens sites.

To assist with the provision of Cardio-Respiratory services throughout the Trust and partnership agencies and to ensure the delivery of a high standard, quality service in an extended role to that of a basic Cardiographer.
To ensure courtesy, privacy, confidentiality, and respect at all times to patients, relatives, staff, and colleagues.
Key Duties
1. ECGs throughout the Trust wards, clinics, A & E and other departments.
2. Cardiac monitoring during clinical procedures e.g., cardioversions, carotid sinus massage, and valsalva manoeuvres.
3. Basic spirometry and peak flows.
4. Arterial blood gas analysis.
5. Non-invasive BP measurement.
6. Blood glucose measurement.
7. Holter monitoring, 24 hr ambulatory ECG & BP hook up.
8. Actively participate at cardiac arrests, with ILS training.
9. Use of external pacemaker.
10. Participate in audit collection.
11. Assist with Exercise Tolerance Tests - 2nd person attending.
12. Assist with Tilt Table tests - 2nd person assisting.
13. Responsible for mouth guard in TOEs.
14. Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and reporting of any faults to a senior physiologist.
