Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning Youth Service at Nottingham Children's Hospital as a Youth Worker, supporting young people with Complications of Excess Weight (CEW). This post is for 18.75 hours per week and fixed term until the end of March 2025, with a possibility of extending the funding for a further year. We are seeking an enthusiastic and young person-focused professional that can complement the work of the hospital Youth Service and work alongside members of the CEW Team to support this cohort of young people through a youth work approach and goal-based outcomes. The post holder must be able to engage with a wide range of young people and their families, offering one-to-one support, group work opportunities and sign-posting to appropriate services. A Youth Work Degree, or equivalent, and previous experience of working with young people within a Youth Work approach is essential. To contribute to the development of services for young people, within the Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) Services, at Nottingham University Hospitals. To work flexibly to assist with the provision of a varied youth work programme for young people referred to the CEW Team. This will consist of one-to-one support and group work and include evenings, occasional weekends and residentials. To support young people's transition to adult services by engaging with, and helping to deliver, the Youth Service's accredited Aspire Programme for young people living with CEW. To effectively record the achievements and outcomes of the work undertaken throughout each year. To participate as a professional member of the Youth Service, and CEW Team, and contribute to the care of the patients of the Trust, relating to their all round cultural and diversity, developmental and emotional needs.
