Western Route is a mixed-mode railway, combining commuter and long-distance GWR services, the high-frequency Elizabeth Line, and critical freight services.
Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to lead analysis projects, forecasting, and insights. You will utilize industry data and software such as Power BI, Excel, and Business Objects, applying techniques like forecasting and data visualization to analyze delays, disruptions, and timetables. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with customers and stakeholders across Network Rail, passenger, and freight operators. Your communication skills will be vital in presenting findings clearly to enable informed decision-making and drive improvements in railway infrastructure and train services.

Main Responsibilities
1. Produce and distribute data for performance monitoring and analysis.
2. Support performance improvement plans with relevant data and insights.
3. Analyze trends using statistical techniques.
4. Act as the central focus for performance improvement procedures.
5. Manage the route’s PfPI and MBR processes.
6. Maintain accurate performance data systems.
7. Monitor and review the functioning of performance data systems.
8. Develop and maintain the Performance Manual.
9. Advise stakeholders on Joint Performance Improvement Plans (JPIPs).
10. Develop joint performance reports with Network Performance and operators.
11. Review performance improvement plans and JPIP comments to inform reviews.
Ideal Candidate
* Educated to A-level standard in English and Maths.
* Intermediate/advanced IT skills.
* Strong analytical and statistical skills.
* Excellent organization and time management.
* Understanding of the PfPI process.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of railway performance management systems.
