The post holder will hold CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or be within 6 months of this. They may have additional experience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the department, but an interest in gynaecology oncology would be welcome. We would expect the postholder to have experience in working in a gynae oncology service, particularly the fast track 2ww pathway. Additional skills to complement the service, eg hysteroscopy, ultrasound training also required. The postholder will be responsible for the clinical management of patients under their care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the post holder is absent. The postholder will be responsible for the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff. The postholder will be required to take part in a Clinical Audit Programme. There is a strong research element in our department. The option to develop research to complement our departmental research plans and could be negotiated in job planning if or when appropriate We are developing our womens health research research - participating in multicentre trials in early pregnancy and colposcopy and research projects in fertility.
