Description Mission: We supply a wide range of Refractory products and services to many industry sectors globally. We pride ourselves on a strong customer support / reactive service. You will be part of our engineering EMEA team - based in Ellesmere Port. Your job will be to provide all manner of project service to our diverse clients across varying sectors across the UK. Responsibilities: Refractory engineers work both in offices (design and planning) and on-site (installation and inspections). Protective gear, such as safety glasses and heat-resistant clothing, is essential. Travel to industrial sites required. Design and Planning: Develop refractory designs based on project requirements. Collaborate with installation teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance. Select appropriate refractory materials and shapes. Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation of refractory linings in furnaces, kilns, and other units. Monitor refractory performance and recommend repairs or replacements. Conduct inspections and quality control checks. Technical Expertise: Understand refractory properties, thermal conductivity, and chemical resistance. Evaluate refractory failure modes and propose solutions. Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols during installation and maintenance. Comply with environmental regulations related to refractory materials. Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Advantage but not essential Bachelor’s degree in materials science, ceramics, or engineering field. Previous work in refractories or similar roles.
