SCP 44 53,964 SCP 47 58,174 Hours Per Week: 36 hours Base Location: Tameside One, Ashton-under-Lyne Assessment Date : Interviews w/c 3 February 2025 The Role We are looking to appoint an experienced Internal Audit professional to join Tameside Council s Assurance Service. The role will provide the opportunity to develop the Internal Audit and Counter Fraud Team as the service is continuing through a process of modernisation, ensuring that the service delivers high quality value adding assurance. Ideally, we would like an experienced Senior/Principal Auditor who is ready to take the next step and move into the role of Audit Manager. This is the perfect opportunity to develop into the role, shape the service, with the ability to bring new ideas and innovation, whilst ensuring delivery of the internal audit plan. Not only will you be providing the service for Tameside Council, but you will also be providing the service for the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) and be working closely with the National Anti-Fraud Network (NAFN). This is an excellent opportunity to learn about other organisations and hosted services, which can only help your own development into an excellent audit manager. About You You will be an experienced CCAB qualified internal auditor (CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, MIIA), ideally with Public Sector experience. We are looking for an auditor who has proven experience and is highly motivated to deliver a best-in-class audit service. With good analytical and problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, ability to plan and deliver strategic and operational risk-based reviews, understands the audit planning process, good knowledge of the audit standards, excellent communication skills and capable of building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
