About the Role: Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Economics department, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding and engaging curriculum across all key stages, likely including A-Level. Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies and resources to inspire students and promote a deep understanding of economic principles and their application to the real world. Lead, support, and mentor a team of Economics teachers, fostering a collaborative and high-achieving department. Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of the Economics curriculum, ensuring high standards and excellent student outcomes. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department, implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Contribute to the broader academic life of the school and potentially participate in relevant extracurricular activities. Manage departmental resources effectively. The role is part-time, with the specific number of days/hours to be discussed. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Economics. Significant experience teaching Economics at the secondary level, with a proven track record of leadership and raising student achievement, ideally including experience with A-Level. A deep understanding of the Economics curriculum and current pedagogical best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. A passion for Economics and the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues. Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and departmental management.
