The Opportunity: This is a full-time permanent position where the Structural Engineer will work in the Local Authorities corporate property and estates team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of jobs both for the council and external clients. The successful candidate will: Deputise for the Senior Structural Engineer as necessary and manage the work of specific projects Be involved in the provision of technical support and advice in compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and other statutory duties of designer, client, client agent, and principal designer, as imposed by the Construction Design and Management Regulations Have special responsibility for geotechnical engineering including site investigation, foundation engineering, contamination, land reclamation, and providing advice to private developers and other departments Further information: Full-time permanent at 37 hours per week £37,938 to £39,513 per year, Dependant on experience Immediate starts available Requirements: Must ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and other associated legislation in respect of the groups’ activities for example, Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM), Party Wall Act and Defective Dwelling Act. A degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with extensive experience in structural engineering Experience and knowledge of civil/structural engineering works, including HSE regulations.
