Job Description
We’re currently recruiting for a Pricing Manager to join the Commercial Pricing team in our Retail Protection business here at L&G. We’re offering a competitive base salary, great benefits plus the opportunity to join a well-established, collaborative and innovative team.
As a Pricing Manager you will be responsible for pricing new and existing insurance business, as well as supporting on reinsurance activity to help meet both the profit and growth ambitions of the Retail Protection business.
This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means you can split your working week flexibly between your home and our idyllic Hove offices to help achieve a work-life balance that works for you.
What you'll be doing:
* Pricing both new and existing insurance policies, ensuring that the pricing process is efficient and robust.
* Supporting on Reinsurance analysis and re-tender work as appropriate.
* Developing new distribution and new products by providing pricing expertise and any additional actuarial support as required.
* Ensuring that changes to products, literature, systems, models, and processes meet regulatory, statutory, and professional requirements whilst maintaining operational and product integrity.
* Providing actuarial expertise to assist in the delivery of new projects and initiatives developed within the Insurance business unit.
* Managing internal relationships so that any changes to risk management, products or processes meet agreed standards and reinsurer expectations.
* Ensuring that appropriate systems and controls are in place and risks identified and escalated where appropriate to meet the Legal & General Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.
* Identifying and developing new pricing concepts, taking into consideration pricing trends within the market.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* A Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary or equivalent.
* Previous insurance pricing experience (this can be either Life or General Insurance experience)
* A detailed understanding of the actuarial techniques used for pricing long term insurance products.
* Knowledge of Protection products and the impact of product features on risk assumptions.
* Knowledge of Protection products and the impact of price and product features on conversion.
* Strong Technical skills - ideally in one or more of; Prophet, Excel, R Studio, VBA, SQL, Snowflake
