Axcis Education is working with a primary school in Ilford that is seeking an experienced SEN Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 child who is non-verbal and has behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and patient SEN professional with experience in supporting children with complex needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the child can access learning in a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing 1:1 support for a child with complex needs, including behavioural challenges
2. Implementing tailored strategies to support learning, communication, and emotional regulation
3. Supporting the child’s social and emotional development
4. Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other school staff
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with complex needs, including non-verbal pupils
2. Strong understanding of behaviour management and communication strategies
3. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
4. Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)
