Tufcot are a well-established family business who have been operating for over 40 years and are the sole manufacturer of Tufcot Composite materials. We supply composite bearing solutions worldwide to various industries, replacing traditional metallic bearings with self-lubricating materials.
We are seeking a Product Engineer to help support in our busy Technical office. We are looking for a highly motivated and technically minded individual who has a keen eye for detail.
Working Hours: 8am to 4.30pm – Monday to Friday.
Salary: £14.50 per hour - £30,160 per annum plus bonuses
Position: Permanent with a progressive and developing company.
An overview of the duties can be seen below:
Technical
* Technical responses to customers and employees.
* To assist customers in the best methods for applying Tufcot products, including bearing calculations. Provide detailed product information to customers regarding products and manufacturing processes.
* Material testing and development.
* Training will be given, but an appreciation of bearing operation, mechanical systems and tribology is advantageous.
Commercial
* Sales and Customer Service: respond to incoming sales emails, create quotes all while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
* When required, to visit customers and support customer visits to Tufcot.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of sales and business strategies.
* Customer account management.
* Working independently, you may be required to attend exhibitions.
Qualifications & Experience
* At least 2 years of experience in a technical role, or a recent engineering or materials graduate
* Understanding of bearings and tribological systems
Requirements
* A highly motivated and technically minded individual.
* Time served within other technical departments, engineering or a degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Excellent communication and organisation skills.
* To be able to work independently but also collaborate with colleagues in the technical department.
* Strong IT capabilities, primarily on Microsoft Office, with strong English and Maths skills.
* AutoCAD or similar experience.
* It would suit a recent engineering graduate or someone with experience in a technical role.
Other
* Collaborate with other departments; manufacturing, quality, and production.
* To carry out such other duties the Company may reasonably require you to undertake with prior authority from a Director.
* Regular supervision meetings with the Engineering Manager.
* 3- and 6-month reviews will be required at the start of the employment.
