Brook Street are looking for a qualified Wellbeing Practitioner to join one of our clients on a temporary, part-time basis.
Location: Cardiff
Type: Temporary 6 months, part-time, hours are negotiable
Candidates need one of the following qualifications or relevant practice experience:
1. A recognised professional qualification at diploma level or equivalent (e.g., BACP or BABCP accredited course).
2. A degree or PG Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Therapeutic Counselling.
3. A Low Intensity Worker/Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Qualification.
Key Responsibilities
1. Offer a comprehensive and evidence-based wellbeing service, providing therapeutic interventions and advising management on how wellbeing challenges affect performance. You'll lead your area within a stepped care framework as part of our Counselling Health and Wellbeing Service.
2. Handle a diverse range of complex student wellbeing issues, ensuring timely support is provided. Identify and analyse common issues, using your judgement and creativity to determine the best interventions, especially for those who have experienced trauma.
3. Implement a proactive wellbeing service that adapts to the needs of our community. Collaborate with colleagues to suggest improvements to both new and existing processes for better service delivery.
4. Run a variety of face-to-face and online workshops focused on promoting student wellbeing. Play an active role in delivering proactive interventions alongside the Student Wellbeing Manager, such as promoting wellbeing campaigns and providing awareness training.
5. Get involved with working groups across the organisation to help achieve departmental goals and enhance overall mental health services.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A solid understanding of key advancements in wellbeing interventions.
2. Experience in assessing and treating common wellbeing issues effectively.
3. Ability to deliver engaging presentations on various wellbeing topics.
4. Effective Communication: The ability to convey complex information clearly to a diverse audience.
5. Experience in understanding stakeholder needs and using data to ensure quality service delivery.
6. Significant experience as an IAPT/wellbeing practitioner or counsellor within an organisational setting.
While not essential, the following experiences are a plus:
1. Experience in Primary Care/IAPT Services.
2. Background in a service with established targets demonstrating clinical outcomes.
3. Familiarity with a higher education environment.
4. Fluency in Welsh (both written and oral).
