Description
As part of the team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of non-audit clients across our Godalming office. The portfolio will be circa £500,000 and will be working with small – medium clients across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a portfolio of Clients with fees of c£500,000
2. Problem solving – e.g. provide solutions to partners
3. Develop understanding of different risks to the firm
4. Check/chase up timesheet entries from staff on your jobs
5. Should be first contact for the client on all areas
6. Support other managers to help monitor and develop students
7. Manage a mixed portfolio of clients ensuring that for each client all deadlines are met, the work is carried out within budget, evaluations are completed, and the job is finalised to minimise partner review time.
8. Manage clients, tax, payroll, PSA agreements, P11d’s etc, ensuring all deadlines are met
9. Respond to clients promptly
10. Consider commercial opportunities for the firm, either internally or as generating new business leads and convert them into profitable engagements
11. Participate in business development activities including proposals, presentations and networking.
12. Be a “safe pair of hands” when client queries are received or deadlines approaching to ensure partners are confident you are in control BUT know when to ask for help from partner
13. Know when to say no to additional work
14. Provides clear instruction and constructive feedback to staff in a timely manner
15. Actively participates in meetings, workshops and training
16. Attends training and is committed to CPD, continually developing and increasing their knowledge and skills to give the best possible service and advice to clients and colleagues
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. Relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
2. Commercially aware and able to apply and communicate technical knowledge in a clear and commercial way.
3. Experience managing both people and a general practice portfolio
4. Commitment to client care and service beyond expectation.
5. Friendly and approachable and able to build trusted relationships with clients
6. Commitment to CPD and ensuring technical competence is continually improved.
7. Ability to give feedback in a constructive manner.
