As a Product Design Engineer, you will work closely with and report directly to the Product Design & Development Manager, driving innovation by supporting the development of new products and enhancing existing ones. Collaborating with stakeholders, you’ll deliver solutions that focus on meeting customer needs while improving efficiency and profitability.
Working Hours and Location
This role is based at our site in Mere, Wiltshire, working Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:15 and Fridays 08:30 – 16:15, including a 45-minute lunch break. This totals 39 hours per week.

* Salary - £26,000 - £28,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the ‘Product Pathway,’ ensuring our products remain at the forefront of technological advancements.
* Support the design and development of new products from concept to manufacturing, ensuring detailed technical documentation is completed.
* Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to create and present technical drawings and innovative solutions.
* Communicate design ideas effectively through sketching, CAD layouts, 3D modelling, and prototypes to evaluate and refine concepts.
* Enhance existing products and develop new designs with a focus on high-volume manufacturing and material optimisation.
* Solve technical challenges using sound engineering principles, working with manufacturers where necessary.
Skills & Experience
* An HNC / Degree-level qualification in Product Design or a related field
* Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software, as this is essential for the role
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly through multiple formats
* A good understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials
* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
