Many women who experience domestic abuse and accompanying complex needs such as substance misuse, mental health, and involvement with the criminal justice system, require safe and supportive housing which caters for their needs. The Nelson Trust Cardiff Women's Centre are seeking a passionate woman with domestic abuse specialisms to ensure the safety of residents. The project will cover Cardiff and the Vale and will be based from our Cardiff Women's Centre. Responsibilities are, but not limited to:- Supporting women who are experiencing domestic abuse Help monitor the risk of women and where relevant their children by liaising closely with professionals Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims Provide a pro-active crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support The project supports women with complex needs which includes substance misuse, emotional wellbeing, offending behaviours and mental health needs. The team works closely with each resident from the beginning of their stay to their eventual positive move on to settled and long-term accommodation. Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
