Job Title: Project Manager

Job Overview
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering impactful, high-profile infrastructure projects? Join our Capital Delivery Team, where you'll manage the delivery of exciting projects related to Final Enforcement Orders (FEOs) and other major infrastructure initiatives, such as the BEWEL Water project.
In this role, you'll oversee large-scale capital projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work across a variety of high-value projects, contributing to the development and sustainability of critical infrastructure, focusing on innovative solutions that make a lasting impact on communities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual ready to lead projects from inception through to completion, reducing reliance on consultants and improving operational efficiencies. As part of our forward-thinking team, you will manage projects with budgets of up to £1 million, ensuring compliance with Final Enforcement Orders and making a significant contribution to the future of essential infrastructure.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Lead and deliver key capital projects in line with Final Enforcement Orders (FEOs), ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and timelines while exceeding customer expectations.
2. Manage project portfolios, identify interdependencies, and ensure smooth execution across multiple workstreams.
3. Take ownership of project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery.
4. Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that financial targets and KPIs are met.
5. Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and maintaining focus on project goals and deadlines.
6. Balance quality, cost, and time constraints while maintaining high standards in project delivery.
About You
7. Extensive experience in delivering high-value capital projects, particularly in utilities or major public sector engineering projects.
8. Expertise in project lifecycle management and experience with NEC contracts.
9. Strong financial acumen, with a proven ability to manage project budgets and contracts effectively.
10. Exceptional risk management skills, with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders and varying project requirements.
11. A results-driven mindset with excellent attention to detail, business case development, and problem-solving abilities.
12. Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
13. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Burham or Falmer office and home.
