Industrial Placement Naval Ships Manufacturing Engineer

BAE Systems offers hybrid and flexible working arrangements, but during your Industrial Placement programme, you will be expected to attend the site four days per week.
We design and build a full range of naval ships, from offshore patrol vessels to giant aircraft carriers, enabling extensive naval operations worldwide. We are the only provider of complex warships and their combat management systems to the UK Royal Navy's surface fleet.

What You Will Be Doing
The purpose of Manufacturing Engineering is to develop, implement, and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly, disassembly, and repair, ensuring compliance with design intent. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will deliver Manufacturing Engineering outputs that ensure design intent can be met.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Influence the design to ensure it aligns with current and evolving manufacturing capabilities.
2. Develop manufacturing capabilities and technology to meet design requirements.
3. Translate Engineering Design intent into Manufacturing Engineering data for Operations use.
4. Ensure Manufacturing Engineering output meets all Safety and Quality requirements.
5. Generate and progress Manufacturing Engineering output in line with Project/Programme requirements.
6. Define and execute emergent work affecting manufacture, fabrication, or construction.
7. Analyze and present manufacturing data for process improvement or investment decisions.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum requirement is being on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Production Engineering Management, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. You must be returning to university to complete your degree.
