You'll experience one area of our business, where you might experience working in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, or service support, among many more. It means you might find yourself doing anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping develop exciting new demonstrator engines like our UltraFan. Or using data, technology, and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment, test marine automation software, or keep our company cyber-safe.
Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you'll build a wealth of new skills with the help of our experts - people who are as invested in your success as you are.
What is the Power Academy?
Power Academy scholarship is a brilliant opportunity for students to discover what they're interested in, develop work-based skills and even secure a position to build a career in the power industry, all while receiving financial support that allows them to focus on their studies.
Up to 50 scholarships are awarded each year to students and participating universities. But what does it actually provide?
* a bursary of £3000 for each year of study
* mentors from industry partners
* paid summer work placements
* annual summer seminar on important sector issues.
You can apply for a Power Academy Scholarship if:
* You're commencing study on an IET-accredited MEng or BEng electrical, electronic or power engineering course at:
o The University of Bath
o Cardiff University
o Imperial College London
o Liverpool John Moores University
o Loughborough University
o The University of Manchester
o Newcastle University
o Queen's University Belfast
o University of Liverpool
o University of Southampton
o University of Strathclyde
* Or are already in the second, third, or fourth year of an IET-accredited degree course at one of these universities. Students in their final year are not eligible.
Closing Date: 1st February, 12:00pm (Midday).
The assessment centre for this programme is running on the 11th February 2025.
