Role Details:
● This role is full time which will require flexibility around weddings and events 7 days a week.
● Typically (but not limited to) 48 hours a week based on a 5 out of 7 working day week.
● 28 days holiday including bank holidays (bonus days for birthday and charity day).
About Us:
Silchester Farm is a beautiful venue nestled amongst the stunning rolling Hampshire countryside. It consists of a collection of charming old oak framed barns which have been carefully restored and stylishly refurbished to provide an unrivalled, unique, and refreshingly contemporary venue for events that can comfortably host up to 140 guests.
Responsibilities:
1. Hosting a wide variety of events from weddings, corporate, private, and public community events.
2. Guide couples and clients throughout their planning journey, including the planning and execution of events.
3. Running a team, organising set up, bar and waiting staff, and communication with the kitchen throughout.
4. Advise and suggest ideas to couples and clients regarding timings and the running of the event.
5. Coordinate any suppliers to ensure a smooth set up on the day.
6. Full ownership of office and diary management, responding to couples and clients queries via email and telephone.
7. Social Media and industry knowledge and awareness.
8. Full coordination of the event day, serving as the venue point of contact for the client/couple on the event day.
9. Understanding of food and drink service, including allergen and dietary requirements, menu planning, and exemplary customer service.
Candidate Requirements:
1. 2 or more years experience in the wedding and events industry.
2. Must have a driving license due to the rural location.
3. An eye for detail and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure a consistent and outstanding level of service.
4. Confidence in running a front and back of house team.
5. Previous experience in executing a formal dinner service.
6. A friendly and approachable personality with excellent people skills.
7. Good knowledge of wedding and event trends.
8. Comfortable and confident to run an event hosting up to 140 guests.
9. Excellent time management.
10. Confident with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
11. Good language skills, both verbal and written.
12. Consistent attitude and understanding of the nature of luxury events.
13. Proactive in problem solving and ability to remain calm under pressure.
