Description Chief Inspector/Detective Chief Inspector Salary: £67,509 - £70,200 South Yorkshire Police The Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police is seeking applications from substantive Inspectors/Detective Inspectors, who have the drive and ambition to become a Chief Inspector/Detective Chief Inspector within this force. As one of the top performing forces in the country our Chief Constable is looking for passionate leaders with the ability and ambitions to drive future policing to the highest standards. The process is also open to current substantive Chief Inspectors/Detective Chief Inspectors looking to transfer from other forces. In addition there is the opportunity for current substantive Inspectors/Detective Inspectors with other forces to apply to transfer on promotion. About the role As a Chief Inspector/Detective Chief Inspector, you form part of a local senior leadership team, working collectively with colleagues to deliver excellent policing services. On appointment, we will assess successful candidates’ skills and experience and they will be required to form part of the force cadre responsibilities, performing one or either of the below listed roles following appropriate training and mentoring: 1) Force critical incident manager, tactical firearms 2) PIP level two manager 3) Public order bronze or silver. For uniformed applicants we expect you will be PSU trained to level two and have deployed operationally twice during the last 12 months (exceptional circumstances will be considered). If you are not already a trained and accredited bronze commander, be prepared to undertake this challenging role. If you are an existing public bronze commander, be prepared to train as a silver commander. Have the ability to connect with officers, staff, and key stakeholders at all levels to effectively deliver excellent and high-quality policing to the public of South Yorkshire. Be truly committed and passionate about the quality of the service provided to the public of South Yorkshire. Be operationally credible with experience of leading a range of policing services.
