Reception Manager - 5 Star Hotel in London Position: Full-Time Location: London Salary: £35K (£30K base salary £5K service charge) Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (8am to 8pm) Reporting to: Front Office Manager Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Reception Manager to join our prestigious 5-star hotel in London. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4-5 receptionists and learners, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception operations. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Oversee and manage the reception team, providing support and guidance to ensure excellent performance. Guest Experience: Assist the Front Office Manager in setting a positive tone for guest experiences, from arrival to departure. Operations Management: Ensure the reception operates smoothly, adhering to SOPs and maintaining high standards. Training & Development: Coordinate and conduct training for reception staff to deliver consistent and high-quality service. Compliance: Ensure compliance with Forbes 5-star standards and actively train teams to achieve high scores in inspections. Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with Concierge, Guest Services, Night Managers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations. Administrative Duties: Assist with rotas, timesheets, payroll, holiday management, team meetings, and recruitment. Major Responsibilities: Coordinate all reception staff to ensure efficient and friendly guest service. Conduct and record continuous training for staff. Supervise daily FO operations. Perform regular standards audits and provide feedback. Ensure high scores in Forbes, AA, and RCH Mystery shop inspections. Maintain effective communication with Concierge, Guest Services, Night Managers, and other departments. Assist with administrative tasks, including rotas, timesheets, payroll, and holiday management. Support the FOM with interviews, hiring, team meetings, and appraisals. Ensure compliance with Forbes 5-star standards and actively train teams. Assist guests with arrival/departure processes and luggage handling. Ensure the hotel's front door is always manned and assist with hailing taxis. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience as a Reception Manager in a 5-star London hotel, preferably with previous experience as a Reception Manager or Duty Manager in a Forbes 5-star hotel. Education: Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. Skills: High attention to detail and guest empathy. Exceptional communication skills. Proficiency in using computers and MS Office/Outlook, Opera, Cloud, and MS 365. Good knowledge and understanding of hotel systems. Personal Attributes: Excellent people management and leadership skills. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work long hours during busy periods or VIP events.
