Job Overview
Design for Security has recently been awarded part of a European Commission Horizon Europe research funding of €2.1m to deliver the consortium project Engage2innovate (E2i) - Enhancing security solution design, adoption and impact through effective engagement and social innovation.
Design for Security has an exciting opportunity for an experienced social science researcher to take on a Research Fellow role and join the team at Greater Manchester Police, Design for Security team in the research and delivery of Engage2innovate.
Key Responsibilities
This Research Fellow role will formulate, develop and lead specific research, innovation and knowledge exchange activities aligned with the E2i project.
Qualifications and Skills
As a successful candidate, you will have previous research experience in, for example, policing, criminology, social sciences and interest in service design, communications design or system design. You will be naturally curious and a critical thinker, able to work well in a team and communicate effectively with practitioner partners in the private and public sectors.
For this role you will need to be self-motivated and self-managing, you will be calm under pressure, be practically-minded problem solver and enjoy ethnographic research within the environment of policing and associated partners.
