Job Description:
Are you a manager with experience in leading high performance teams in innovation, enterprise and partnership in a higher education setting? This is an exciting opportunity to build Birkbeck’s capability in innovation and commercialisation. You will play an instrumental role in establishing the new Innovation Support Unit working in close collaboration with colleagues in the Research Office, Finance, and elsewhere. This opportunity would build on experience in the higher education, private or third stream sectors, developing and providing an essential, professional service to build Birkbeck’s capability for innovation and commercialisation. As a new area, you will promulgate the service across the College to promote innovation practice.
You will have effective team, organisational and project management skills and apply them to established and new projects, ensuring that they are appropriately monitored and reporting to the Innovation and Commercialisation Board on their progress. You will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to analyse complex information to inform decisions and advice on innovation projects.
You will have demonstrable leadership skills, be able to think strategically and flexibly, and support your team on a wide range of work including business partnering, contracts and IP, budget projections and management, and course delivery.
Remuneration: Grade 9 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £61,856 rising to £69,074 per annum. The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
