The Elms Surgery in Watford are looking for a qualified and experienced practice nurse to join our clinical team on a part-time basis, working from 22.5 - 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are looking for our practice nurse to see patients independently, however full support from the medical team will be provided when needed. We hope that the successful applicant will help to strengthen our nursing and practice team to provide better care and disease management for our patients. Duties will include the following: Childhood immunisations. Cervical cytology. IM injections including flu, Covid 19, pneumococcal, shingles, RSV. Asthma reviews. Blood pressure reviews. Diabetic foot checks and review. Supporting QOF and ECF targets. Long term conditions management reviews supported by a delegated senior clinician. Health and lifestyle advice. Height, weight and BMI checks, NHS healthchecks. Other nursing led tasks, phlebotomy, Urine dips, ECG’s, swabs. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: A relevant nursing degree. Current NMC registration with an active PIN. Previous experience working within a primary care setting. Strong clinical skills. About Us The Elms Surgery is a medium sized practice located in Nascot village and Cassiobury area of central Watford. As well as the excellent road and rail commuter links there are many outstanding schools nearby, both primary and secondary, including Watford Boys and Girls Grammar. The practice looks after almost 9,000 patients and is part of the Central Watford PCN and uses EMIS clinical system. We have an amazing admin, reception, and clinical team.
