Pus an excellent lifestyle benefits package Location: Birmingham (Remote and Hybrid working options available) Closing Date: Friday 23rd August 2024 The opportunity: As Data/MI Analyst you will work in partnership with stakeholders from a variety of internal teams to create and deliver MI reports, dashboards, and solutions. You will be involved in the production of a portfolio of reports, ad-hoc analysis, and projects that will help the business make better data-led decisions and streamline processes. On top of generating business insights and presenting analysis findings, you will aim to challenge the status quo by introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking to drive new methods and you will represent the MI team in a variety of interesting projects. You may be an MI Analyst looking for a fresh new challenge or you may even be working as a Reporting Analyst, Financial Analyst, Data Analyst or Data Scientist and looking to take your career in a different direction. Key Areas of the Role: Supporting the MI team with their monthly/quarterly delivery of excel based reporting. Proven experience of reconciling large datasets and performing complex data analysis within a large organization. A good understanding of regulatory reporting. Drive continuous improvement and challenge the status quo by introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking beyond recognised ways of doing things. A good communicator able to present findings and solutions to senior stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner. Embrace and encourage the use of technology to deliver MI/BI in the most effective ways. Comprehensive experience of data extraction, cleansing, and validation from our core platforms and systems. Be a Team Player by seamlessly working alongside our wider Engineering teams, including tax, finance, and credit control. Assist with requirements for internal and external audit and ensure regulatory compliance. What are we looking for? Strong analytical skills and previous experience of working in a MI Analyst/Data Scientist capacity preparing MI and Insights for key stakeholders. Excellent numeracy and organizational skills to ensure a strong focus upon accuracy and maintenances of company documentation & processes. Experience of using business intelligence and reporting tools such Power BI. Proven experience of using Excel, Power Query. Ability to work autonomously, as well as effectively collaborating within a team. Good knowledge and understanding of IT and data concepts. Creative problem solving and critical thinking. Effective communicator, with a high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to explain complex issues in a concise and straightforward way to a wide range of audiences. Ability to effectively manage time and resources to consistently prioritise and deliver within a fast-paced environment. Desirable experience of the following: Working in a customer focussed environment, ideally within an insurance or Engineering business. Knowledge of engineering / inspection terminology and working practices.
