Corporate Solicitor (2+ PQE)
Cumbria, Kendal or Newcastle
Burnetts is one of the most progressive law firms in the North of England and have not only achieved awards for being a Great Place to Work each year from 2021, but also hold the accreditation for being one of the UK wide ‘Best Workplaces for Women’ for a medium sized organisation too.
Due to increased expansion and client wins, our award-winning corporate team is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious corporate lawyer to join our growing team. The successful candidate can be based at any of our offices.
You will have the opportunity to be part of our thriving M&A practice, working on a wide range of challenging and rewarding transactions, gaining experience across all aspects of corporate law.
The Role
In this exciting role, you will be involved in a broad range of corporate work, but will principally focus on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, buy-ins and buyouts, joint ventures and investments, shareholders’ agreements and general corporate governance advice.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a self-motivated individual with transactional experience, a commercial approach, and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues. You will be given support and guidance to progress your career and you will play a significant role in the future of the team.
You will have early exposure to market-leading transactions working with our high-quality client base and will work closely with colleagues in the corporate team and the wider firm. For those with greater PQE, you will be expected to manage your own transactions, build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and contribute to the development of the corporate team.
Importantly, you must be a team player and be personable with a good sense of humour.
Any appointment we make will be a key role within an expanding team. There are clear opportunities for progression within a growing and ambitious firm in what is a very exciting time for the Burnetts corporate team.
What do we offer?
In return we offer the opportunity to be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team working with leaders in their field, who are generous with their time and support. We are a forward-thinking and progressive firm which offers a great working environment with a strong focus on employee wellbeing.
The salary will be extremely competitive and is negotiable depending on your experience. We offer a range of additional benefits including 30 days holiday and Private Medical Health Insurance; in addition, we will even give you your birthday off every year too!
Our values of Togetherness, Balanced, Accountable, Progressive and Integrity, help to engender a culture of providing excellent client service within a caring and supportive internal environment.
