We are recruiting for an Audit Senior on behalf of a top accountancy practice, to be based at the firm’s Stevenage office. This role could also be based at an office in the North London area.
As part of the audit and accounts team, you will be providing a wide range of audit and accounting services to clients. This is a varied role that will include overseeing and undertaking audits and accounts work, both in the office and at client premises.
Reporting to Manager and Partner, as Audit Senior your responsibilities will include:
* Leading audits from planning to completion with minimal supervision, to deadlines and on budget; ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements at all times
* Overseeing all aspects of the audit fieldwork and completion and leading on-site audit teams
* Coaching and mentoring junior team members
* Presenting results to managers and agree commercially viable audit recommendations
* Supervising and reviewing the work of more junior audit staff
* Attending post audit client meetings
* Lead finalisation of audit including preparation of accounts and tax computation
* Liaise and communicate with portfolio holder and client, ensuring communication is efficient at all times
* Build strong relationships with clients
* Prepare accounts for supervisor/manager’s review and approval
* Prepare sole trader/company tax computations
* Raise relevant and coherent queries to assist with supervisor/manager review

* Qualified ACCA or ACA with at least three years’ UK accountancy practice experience
* Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
* Able to lead audit engagements from planning to completion
* Strong IT skills; knowledge of the Microsoft Office and accounting/audit software
* Ability to deliver accurate work to deadlines and under pressure with good time management skills
* Able to work closely with managers on a daily basis
* Considerate of the needs and skills of those under supervision, organising tasks and responsibilities
* Commitment to delivering a first-class service to clients, and the ability to work as part of a team
* Excellent customer service and communications skills, both written and verbally
* A driving licence and access to transport is essential as the majority of the audits are conducted at the client’s premises
