What will I be doing?
MISSIONS
• Ensure the quality of items & services purchased and stored.
• Manage any discrepancies in delivered & stored items.
• Manage the quarantine areas whilst ensuring timely containment, characterisation & return to suppliers;
• Manage the supplier relationship for quality aspects, in order to promote continuous and preventive improvement among suppliers & the team.
• Manage effectively any quality events originating from suppliers by minimising their QCD impacts and prevent line stoppages.
• Identify & escalate any risks or concerns in relation to product or people safety both internally and within the supply chain, using the company tools & processes.
• Contribute to the process of improvement within the department
PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES
- Lead the team in the daily activities for Supplier Quality Engineering, Co-ordination & Goods Inward Inspection linked to;
- Supplier audits & monitoring;
- Management of supplier NCR's & corrective actions linked to audits and product;
- Ensure controls are in place with suppliers to minimise the use of pre-releases & concessions;
- Analysis of data linked to supplier NCR's and concessions;
- Management of non-quality eradication plans;
- If necessary, request the installation of a quality wall or a third party inspection;
- Ensure containment checks on stocks as required are completed within deadlines;
- Ensure clear characterisation of NCR's & communication to suppliers;
- Ensure DVI's / APQP are validated to the required level & within agreed timescales;
- Work with internal teams to take the needs of the production lines into account in order to minimise disruption to the production lines.
- Provide the elements enabling non-quality costs to be recovered from suppliers, in particular agreeing with the supplier on the responsibility for NCR's observed;
- Support & lead when required, quality crisis linked to suppliers to minimise QCD impacts and prevent line stoppages;
- Represent quality in supplier & internal reviews
