Eastfield House - Monday to Friday, circa 6am to 2pm daily, 37 hours per week full-time.
We are seeking a Recycling Refuse Driver/Loader to drive collection vehicles. You will need to have an up-to-date HGV Qualification, CPC and Tacho Digicard.
When working as a Recycling Refuse Driver you will lead the daily collection team as the driver of the vehicles for that day. You will be required to carry out daily maintenance checks and will be the responsible person for both the vehicle and crew.
You will have complete direction of the team working on the collection rounds, resolving issues and problems as they rise to ensure service delivery of the round. This will involve reporting relevant issues to the Recycling Waste Managers. You will be responsible for the usage of the in-cab data system, recording events/issues and ensuring the allocated round is completed by the end of each working day. You will need to ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed.
When acting as Refuse/Recycling loader, you will be required to load waste onto the collection vehicle in accordance with safe working practices. You will collect all forms of household waste, work as part of a crew and be polite, helpful, and comfortable working outside in all weathers and able to lift heavy loads as part of your daily duties.
You must be able to make decisions on what waste can and cannot be taken, to undertake risk assessments when working with the driver, be aware of health and safety in relation to manual handling and have good communication skills, both with your crew and members of the public.
You will need to be able to follow instructions, always conduct yourself in a professional manner and work in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines. All PPE will be provided.
