As SEO Manager, you will join Target with a minimum of 2 years of search engine optimisation experience - gained in-house, freelance or from another agency. 80% of your time will be focused on researching, writing, implementing and measuring organic search strategies for key eCommerce clients, while the remaining 20% will be department building (e.g. refining processes, building a team and innovating the agency’s SEO, DPR and content service offering with the leadership team).
The role offers the right candidate an outstanding opportunity to work in an ambitious team at an award-winning agency in stunning Cornwall. We seek to appoint someone with the ability to work autonomously, a drive to help grow the department via commercial thinking, consistent thought-leadership and innovation. Someone with the hunger and raw talent to grow into our Head of SEO over the coming 18 months - an appetite for soaking up knowledge and a growth mindset is essential.
Salary is DOE. EMI Share Scheme by Q3 2025. Office 2 days per week (WFH 3 days per week).
Must have:
1. Creating detailed SEO audits and turning your findings into clear, measurable strategies for our eCommerce clients (knowledge of Shopify is essential).
2. Analysing data in Google Search Console, GA, SEM Rush & AhRefs to ensure that strategies are meeting agreed KPIs.
3. Communicating your wins/challenges to your line manager and proactively ‘managing up’ with key stakeholders.
4. Building an SEO team (we hope that this person will evolve to become the ‘Head of’ department) by hiring, mentoring existing team members and evolving the SEO service offering.
5. Managing our brand partner relationships, and becoming the go-to for any and all questions on your partners’ technical, digital PR and content questions.
6. Supporting the leadership team with new business pitches and proposals.
Good to have:
1. A balanced view of AI - the threats that it presents to search engine marketing (and how they can be overcome), and also the opportunities that it presents (e.g. optimising GPTs and accelerating admin/low value tasks).
2. Good analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Sheets - VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis etc.
3. Demonstrable experience in a client-facing role, writing SEO strategy and managing an SEO team.
4. Experience with managing stakeholders and nurturing relationships - brand partners, colleagues and tech partners.
5. Understanding of broader eCommerce principles - customer cohort analysis, CAC & LTV metrics.
