Graduate Musician in Residence, September 2025 to July 2026
We seek an outstanding and enthusiastic musician to join the Music Department as a Musician in Residence for one academic year. This full-time, term-time only post would suit a recent graduate, an undergraduate due to graduate this summer or a professional musician with a strong interest in education. They will join the thriving musical life of the school and work with a friendly and talented team. This role demonstrates the school’s continuing support and development of its already strong Music Department.
The successful candidate will be an inspirational, energetic and proactive individual with strong musical skills and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the musical life of the school. The workload will be tailored to suit the particular strengths of the appointee but will include some or all of the following:
• Taking an active part in the co-curricular programme;
• Supporting GCSE and A Level pupils;
• Rehearsal and performance with appropriate ensembles;
• Taking theory classes;
• Assisting students in their preparation for practical music examinations;
• Supporting the Music Administrator with administration of the department:
• Assist with the organisation and delivery of rehearsals, concerts and musicals;
• Promoting and encouraging active involvement in the musical life of the whole school, including attendance at some evening and weekend events;
• Keyboard skills and/or music technology skills will be an advantage.
The salary for this role will be £27,000
Reasonably priced accommodation adjacent to the school may be available.
