We have a rare opportunity for an Office Manager to join our team at The Robert Darbishire Practice (RDP), which is one of 3 practices operated by Better Health MCR. RDP's main site is in Rusholme Health Centre and there is a branch at The University of Manchester, in Crawford House on Booth Street East.
RDP is one of the largest GP practices in Greater Manchester and as Office Manager you will play a pivotal role in its day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the service received by our patients reflects our core values of care and curiosity to deliver high standards of customer service.
Better Health MCR is a not-for-profit social enterprise where surpluses are invested in the service. You have a great opportunity to make a real positive impact on the lives of our patients and staff.
If you are a dynamic leader with a passion for service delivery and team development, and an interest in a career in Primary Care, this role could be perfect for you.
Main duties of the job
The Office Manager is the senior non-clinical manager for the practice (including the University branch). You'd be responsible for keeping things running smoothly, ensuring your team are well-trained and well-organised, with good team spirit and high morale. You would have immediate management responsibility for the Reception Team Leader, the Local Admin Team Leader and the Clinical Rota Co-ordinator. In total the practice non-clinical team is about 25 people.
You would work in partnership with the practice Clinical Lead and other senior managers to ensure the delivery of an organised and efficient service that follows our policies to meet the demands and needs of our patients.
As well as looking after your team you would also be responsible, liaising with other partners where appropriate (such as the landlord and IT helpdesks), for making sure that facilities and equipment are of a high standard, to provide a good working environment that supports colleagues to do their jobs efficiently.
Job responsibilities
The post is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, and will be mostly based at The Robert Darbishire Practice (in Rusholme Health Centre) with some time at the University GP Service (in Crawford House on Booth Street East), although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed. The usual working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30, though some flexibility may be required.
Salary will be in the range £35,416 to £38,497, depending on experience. We offer membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and 5.4-6.6 weeks holiday (depending on NHS service) plus bank holidays (pro rata). (The post is not subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions.)
