We wish to recruit staff nurses to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary teams that provide specialist services to children, young people, and families within our mental health services.
Our CAMHS Inpatient Unit consists of two wards rated Outstanding by CQC. The Hope and Horizon Unit, based in Bury, provides general adolescent and eating disorder inpatient care and treatment for young people aged 13-18 years. Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded the Lead Provider role for the Greater Manchester CAMHS Inpatient Lead Provider Collaborative, and there has never been a more exciting time to join our innovative and quality-driven service.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit nurses who are passionate about working in CAMHS, supporting young people along with their parents and carers, with the ability to work flexible shift patterns over seven days, including rotation to night duty.
As a qualified nurse, you would be a vital member of the team in delivering person-centered care to those admitted onto the ward. You will be working with people who can be very distressed and display some very challenging behaviours. It will be your responsibility to provide reassurance and distraction, using care and compassion, for young people experiencing mental ill health. You will also be responsible for a wide range of tasks such as care planning and implementation, risk assessment, physical health assessment, liaising with the wider MDT, ward rounds, and you will be a named nurse.
We would absolutely love to hear from Student Nurses who are due to qualify and are keen to start their career as a registered nurse with CAMHS.

* Evidence of professional registration with NMC
Experience
* Experience of working within mental health service
* Experience of working with young people
Knowledge
* Knowledge of mental health issues in young people.
* Knowledge of legislation and National policies in relation to mental health issues in young people
* Child protection knowledge and implemented in practice
* Knowledge of CPA processes.
Skills
* Ability to assess, plan and implement care programmes for young people with complex emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
* Ability to observe, listen and communicate effectively, verbally and non-verbally with young people and their families
