Fluoroscopy / Interventional Radiology Nurse

Working cross site in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Queens Hospital Burton, and the Royal Derby site, the main focus of this post will be to provide care and support for patients attending the Department for radiological procedures.
You will work closely with the existing multidisciplinary teams within the RDH department and across site with the QHB Fluoroscopy team.
To ensure continuity of care, the post holder will liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues in all shared care settings and maintain accurate documentation.
To participate in the on-call cover requirements for the RDH site.
Main Duties of the Job
Fluoroscopy / Interventional radiology provides an essential service in the diagnosis and treatment of a vast variety of both adult and paediatric patients from a wide range of specialties.
Your role within the imaging department will vary from day to day, including scrubbing and assisting the radiologists directly during cases, supporting patients and their needs before, during, and after the procedures, and managing the day-to-day running of the expanding interventional radiology department.
We work closely with multidisciplinary teams within the hospital, dependent on the nature of numerous interventions. This includes the expectation of cross-site working at Queens Hospital Burton if required.

We have a full competency training package for staff which will furnish you with the specific skills you need to flourish in your new role.
You will take an active part in developing our non-nursing colleagues and ensuring best practice in your areas of expertise.
ILS training will be essential and provided.
