We are seeking a Power Grids delivery lead to join our growing Net Zero Energy Business. As a sector delivery lead, you'll have a focus on both business development and delivery of projects across the sector portfolio. We are looking for leads for the following areas: Electricity Transmission & Electricity Distribution.
This position would be based in one of our core offices (Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, or Epsom), with a flexible mixture of home-working and office collaboration time expected. We also welcome applicants wishing to work part-time.
The UK Energy market is undergoing unprecedented change as the country strives towards a net zero carbon target. As part of the Net Zero agenda, networks have a crucial role in delivering the renewable energy which is required to be connected. The transmission network operators have secured c.£8bn as part of the RIIO T2 package.
Your purpose:
In this role you will be:
* Supporting the development of the sector strategy and roadmap, including which clients and services to focus on. Leading delivery of agreed actions and initiatives to deliver the sector strategy.
* Management of client stakeholders directly or contributing to the plans owned by our Key Account Managers.
* Accountable for delivery of the portfolio of project and services within your sector, acting as a Project Director for many of the projects. Managing the delivery of proposals within your sector, including authoring and directing key bids.
* Identification of resourcing requirements within sector (projects & pipeline).
* Identification of capability and competency requirements to deliver the sector strategy.
* Managing the pipeline and delivery of works within your sector.
* Where appropriate to achieve the progress of overall strategy, deliver critical roles in key projects or for key clients.
* Manage resource requirements with the Group Leads on an ongoing basis. Input to business operations on short-, medium- and long-term resourcing requirements. Work collaboratively with counterpart sector leads to deliver the overall strategy of the business.
* Ensure delivery of your sector Revenue and EBIT target and maintaining your own productivity at a level (~50%) to support this.
What you can bring:
* You will bring knowledge, experience and expertise in the applicable sector and be able to articulate and communicate the tasks, opportunities and risks facing the sector through the Net Zero energy transition. If you have not previously worked in this sector you will demonstrate transferable multi-disciplinary engineering delivery skills and a passion to learn about the sector.
* Previous experience in project director and/or bid director roles for an engineering consultancy is preferred as a key client facing role, you will be enthusiastic and work well with others.
* Energy, enthusiasm and collaborative behaviours will be essential to this role. You will be working closely with the NZEB lead team and discipline group leads to drive the growth of our business and deliver our strategy.
