Our client is one of the top civil engineering and construction contractors in the UK.
They are now looking for an experienced individual to join their Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site Based Construction Manager within their Operational Team.
You will deliver complex work that really matters to their business, and the world around you. You will be working on their Project between Fort Augustus and the Isle of Skye.
Please note this role will be on an 11/3 rotation.
As a Construction Manager you'll:
1. Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in their responsibility for overall profit and loss of a standard or major project whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, sustainability, environmental and quality are implemented.
2. Promote a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders' requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver.
3. Support in the winning of a number of projects in accordance with the Power T&D Strategic Plan as necessary.
What you'll be doing:
1. Manage Site Managers / Project Engineers to ensure that all work undertaken satisfies all required safety and technical policies and procedures.
2. Plan the work and oversee the requirements for necessary materials, plant and equipment.
3. Oversee the requirements for resource and then manage staff for the project.
4. Manage the construction site(s) on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control.
5. Ensure that all work is carried out according to NRSWA and be responsible for effective liaison and collaboration with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other Utilities providers.
6. Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress.
7. Check design documents.
8. Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environment legislation, engineering and customer standards.
Who they are looking for:
1. Degree Qualified in Electrical/Civil Engineering Discipline - desirable.
2. Qualification in APM - desirable.
3. Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
