Founded in 2018, SailGP is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment properties. Heading into its fifth season, SailGP provides a year-round calendar of 14 annual events. Summary: SailGP is set to welcome over 60k fans across 14 events into Race Stadiums during the 2025 Season, with millions more set to watch racing from home. SailGP events are delivered in a mix of repeat and new venues. SailGP is delivering a standardised approach to processes and products, but each Race Stadium and local fanbase is truly unique. SailGP is searching for a Head of Ticketing to set, communicate and oversee the end to end delivery of the SailGP Ticketing strategy. As Head of Ticketing, you will play a pivotal role in outlining the ticketing product and price for all SailGP events globally. You will recommend and oversee the ticketing platforms used globally or across each geo. The Head of Ticketing cannot do this alone, so working closely with stakeholders across the business to maximise the inventory sold and revenue opportunity for each race is critical. Your key stakeholders will be across Marketing, Communications, Events, Partnerships and Strategy, so working cohesively is incredibly important to deliver a successful programme. As SailGP grows season to season, the opportunities to enhance our ticketed offering will increase, and you’ll have the remit to shape this for SailGP and its fans. Key Responsibilities Set and deliver the SailGP Ticketing strategy (short to long term), from event concept to delivery- outlining a clearly defined product, agreed pricing and the best ticketing platform for SailGP needs. Meet clearly defined capacity and revenue targets, with a performance marketing mindset to ensure the conversion funnel is fully optimised at each and every step Own the customer journey on the ticketing site ensuring it’s fully optimized to successfully convert traffic into sales Oversee the on sale build of ticketed events (delivered by the Ticketing Manager) and oversee the day to day management of ticketing operations for each event across the season Develop the Customer Service team and mindset, highlighting high volume query areas that can be addressed through the sales process, and pre-event communications Deliver effective pre, during and post event reporting in line with the agreed reporting framework Work closely with the digital transformation project to ensure ticketing data is supplied in an accurate and timely manner Oversee step changes in our processes within the team and with stakeholders, to ensure clarity and clearly defined timescales and expectations Work with key stakeholders to manage timescales, offering ticketing expertise and leadership throughout the lifecycle from concept to on sale and post event Lead and inspire a high performing team, including 1xTicketing Manager, 1xTicketing Executive and regional Ticketing support (APAC) around events Work with the Events team to ensure onsite ticketing operations, including box office management procurement, queue management/scanning operation and ticket products delivery are implemented in line with expectations from the business and fan. With 13 events each year (repeat and new locations), and multiple products per event, from on-water and on-land, you’ll need to lead a team (currently 1x Ticketing Manager & 1 Ticketing Exec) to deliver this activity from the UK supporting our global teams Strategically minded and able to outline a season plan against specific KPIs Experience in recommending and implementing process improvements Confident commercial awareness and performance marketing ability. As awareness of SailGP increases in each market we visit, you’ll be able to identify and deliver improvements to the ticketing sales funnel Ticketing platform knowledge to recommend and deliver events in each geo based on SailGP requirements A customer champion, with a desire to understand fan behaviours, matched to your knowledge of ticketing and market trends Flexibility to move with changing requirements as each event evolves.
