This role sits within the Treasury function of the bank, and the role holder is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the bank’s cash management, liquidity and interest rate risk strategies, ensuring operation within defined business risk appetite. The dealer must also assist with the pricing and hedging of foreign exchange activity, and support with ongoing administrative tasks within the Treasury team. Core Duties Day-to-day management of the banks operational cash requirements, to include forecasting and monitoring of cash flow, review of maturity gap analysis and deployment of surplus funds to ensure optimal returns received. Oversight and review of daily liquidity positions and ratios (LCR, NSFR etc) Execution and maintenance of ALCO determined liquidity strategies to ensure compliance with all internal and external liquidity measures. Execution of appropriate actions to address any short-dated cashflow deficits that may arise. Oversight and maintenance of liquid asset portfolios managed by NPWL (Treasury Bills, CD’s, FRN’s) Maintain effective interdepartmental communication channels to ensure timely awareness of internal / external cashflows. Oversight of interbranch asset / liability profiles and interbranch pricing. Management of NPWL’s interest rate risk position; including interest rate gap analysis and hedging of inherent interest rate risk through use of approved derivative instruments. Execution and maintenance of ALCO determined IRRBB management strategies. Oversight, review and agreement of regular Net Interest Income and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) risk reporting. Quotation / hedging of FX transactions & monitoring of inherent currency positions when required. Execution of all market transactions in accordance with NPWL policies, procedures and approved limits. Management of customer fixed term deposit (FTD) pricing – inclusive of post transaction oversight & reconciliation. Production and distribution of deposit pricing to both internal & external parties. Oversight of client FTD breakages and applicable penalties to be applied. Oversight & maintenance of client and market interest rates within NPWL’s banking platform. Production of management information; FX analysis, Net Interest Income, liquidity metrics and concentration risk. Assist with the production of, and contribute to, the Asset & Liability Committee monthly reporting pack. Deliver a high level, professional Treasury service to all internal and external parties. Provide relevant market research, analysis, and insights to other areas of the business to support them in delivering an excellent client service. Remain well versed with financial market movement, behaviour, economic conditions and geopolitical developments to support appropriate execution of risk management duties. When required, attend internal forums to represent the treasury function and provide appropriate input. Liaise with treasury back-office to ensure effective and efficient end to end execution of market transactions. Undertake ad-hoc treasury projects as required. Maintain relationships, as appropriate, with the dealing desks of other approved banks and brokers to allow efficient execution of NPWL wholesale market activity. Experience Experience of working within a treasury or other financial market environment with relevant professional qualifications or a willingness to study to achieve an appropriate qualification, e.g. ACI, investment qualification. Technical Skills Understanding of financial markets and their interactions Working knowledge of money markets, foreign exchange, bond markets, derivatives and associated instruments. Understanding of liquidity operations and management strategies within a banking environment. Understanding of interest rate risk management principles. Strong mathematical and analytical skills in order to be able to review and interpret financial market and relevant risk management information. Experience in executing trades efficiently and accurately, whilst adhering to best practice and risk management policies. Familiarity with market information systems and trading platforms used within Treasury operations.
